My dad and I went fishing last Saturday and it was such a good trip, we went again this Saturday. We went to Strawberry Reservoir, which is about 25 minutes southeast of Heber. THe leaves are all changing up there and it is just beautiful everywhere you look.
I don't know how he does it but my Dad always seems to catch more fish than me - or anybody else for that matter. Once in a while I will catch one or two more fish than he but it isn't often. The last two Saturdays were no exception. I only caught about 10 fish last week and 2 this week. Dad caught about 15 last week and 5 this week. He also got the big one last week and this week. Uncle Jarum came with us this week as well, but he never seems to surpass my Dad either.
I'm not complaining, 10 fish at Strawberry is always an excellent day of fishing. We have been using minnows this year instead of worms and PowerBait. The minnows sure seem to bring in the big fish! Usually we won't even catch a fish big enough to bring home (22 inches or bigger). But we brought fish home on both trips.
The beauty my dad is holding is only a mere 26 inches long. Mine was probably only about 17 inches - but hey, like I said, I'm not complaining.
If anyone ever wants to go, I'm always looking for a good excuse to get up early on a Saturday...
